Visa Requirements

Tourist Visa Requirement Checklist

  • Valid passport with minimum 6 months validity from the date of travel.
  • 1 Visa Application Form.
  • 2 Photos (Passport size, recent Camera clicked photo with white background and 80% face focus).
  • Covering letter on letterhead mentioning purpose of visit.
  • Onward and Return Confirmed ticket showing stay in Costa Rica NOT more than 30 days
  • Salary Slips for last 3 months.
  • Original 3 months personal Bank Statement.
  • Last 3 years ITR acknowledgement.
  • Hotel confirmation.
  • Original PCC from passport Office with apostle and Spanish translation with apostle.

Business Visa Requirement Checklist

  • Valid passport with minimum 6 months validity from the date of travel.
  • 1 Visa Application Form.
  • 2 Photos (Passport size, recent Camera clicked photo with white background and 80% face focus).
  • Copy of the first page of passport.
  • Covering letter addressed to The Visa Officer, Embassy Of Costa Rica on Company / Business Letter Head.
  • Covering letter on personal grounds.
  • Original Invitation stating that invitee company shall be responsible for sending back the passenger before the expiry of visa.
  • Copy of the ID card of the Signing Authority, who signed the invitation.
  • Return Confirmed Ticket showing return within 30 days.
  • Hotel Confirmation.
  • Original PCC from passport Office with apostle and Spanish translation with apostle.
  • Company Profile of both the Requesting as well as the Invitee Company.
  • Salary Slip – last 3 months with Company Seal and signatures of Authorized Signatory.
  • Original Personal Bank Statement for last 6 months showing healthy balance (Minimum 3 lacs).
  • Last 3 yrs ITR acknowledgement both personal and company.

Processing Time: 7 to 10 Business days from the date of submission to the embassy.

Note:

  • Travelers with a valid US, Schengen, Canada, Japan, or South Korea Business/Tourist visa (with at least 3 months validity remaining) do not require a separate Costa Rica visa.
  • Travelers with a valid residence permit, work permit, study permit, or refugee status from USA, Canada, or Schengen countries (with at least 6 months validity) do not require a Costa Rica visa.
